Along with three coworkers, responsible for ensuring that software updates and new daemons written for Cloudmark's anti-spam back end will operate properly and will not cause damage to Cloudmark's central database. Other responsibilities: helping to design a maintainable test harness and writing automated regression and acceptance tests for various daemons, assisting in software design, analysis of possible daemon interactions and race conditions, rapid response analysis of production issues (alone or in cooperation with the daemon's primary engineer).

Adam is a man of many interests, though his competence varies considerably between them. Here are a few. There are more. - Photography: Adam is a wildlife and pet photographer, specializing in dogs, cats, and sea mammals, especially sea otters. - Blogging: Adam runs a blog called The Dogs of San Francisco, and has also contributed (pseudonymously) to a couple of political blogs. - Writing: Adam has written the occasional short story and a smattering of poetry, in addition to blogging. - Guitar Playing: Adam is learning the guitar, excruciatingly slowly, both to accompany himself singing and to accompany his girlfriend, the dramatically more competent Irish musician Autumn Rhodes. - Singing: Adam is an accomplished singer, having sung in choirs and small ensembles for many years, performed in operetta for several years, and having performed a variety of music styles from classical and jazz to Irish and American traditional folk music. - Programming: Adam is currently teaching himself iPhone programming, by writing a couple of applications that he needs that nobody has gotten around to writing. Perhaps someday he'll write something of public consumption. - Computer Games: Adam enjoys the occasional dalliance with computer games, generally role playing or strategy games. - Pencil and Paper Role-Playing: Adam played traditional role-playng games for many years, though it has been some time since he's played one. - Volunteer and Nonprofit Work: Adam does the occasional stint of work for nonprofits, including refurbishing computers for a variety of worthy causes, assisting nonprofits with computer-related issues, and assisting the Sea Otter Fund in its publicity efforts for two years.
